I am new to this region(previously a resident of Northern NJ and Buffalo, NY), so I figured that a casting call for my ongoing project was in order. I write a style blog for Lip Service(Yes, the cool clothing company from LA). The blog is called Lethal Style and it is updated every two weeks. The breakdown of each Lethal Style entry is as follows: -A brief storyline -Step-by-step instructional guide to achieveing( a how-to on :clothing, hair and makeup) various looks using primarily Lip Service clothing. I do my own hair and makeup(although I am NOT opposed to working with hair/MUA people please realize that it will be on a TF basis). I'd like to collaborate with a DC/MD/VA/DE/Southern PA photographer who sees and understands my vision and would like to make some great content together. It is a TF assignment, but you do get some kick ass exposure out of the deal. These photos will not be rotting away in someone's MySpace folder. Lip Service IS the biggest alternative clothing company. Their webzine and webstore gets a ton of unique views on a daily basis, so this would be a great opportunity to showcase your work. Thousands of clothing addicted fashion freaks get the Lip Service newsletter delivered directly into their inbox on a weekly basis. And once every two weeks they can see YOUR work. Come to YOUR portfolio. Get impressed by YOUR photos. Perhaps hire you to shoot them Yay...publicity! Models: If you want to be a part of Lethal Style, we can discuss this further. But know that this is a TF opportunity. You MUST have your own Lip Service clothes. If I don't know you, I'm not letting you raid my wardrobe. Photographers: Here's a little of what I'm looking for. -Fashion photography with an editorial feel. -Photoshop proficiency. Fashion retouching is what I'm after. I don't need dragons photoshopped into my picture. I don't need my face blurred to the point where it glows. I don't want something that looks like a mall glamour shot. -Reasonable proximity to me(If your work rocks, I can come to you. Alas I am NOT going to Florida or the Netherlands) -Ability to shoot indoors or outdoors(I love lights and your ability to use them correctly long time). I'm fun to work with. I'm the furthest thing from a bitch. If you have your own hair/makeup person, that's fine(Okay...within reason...no wacky Crow makeup or hair falls made out of Walmart yarn), I will let them do their thing without criticizing their art. I'm throughly settled in my new home and dungeon in Houston and as of late August I started modeling again.
Booking now for late October and November.  Let's shoot.

It's been an interesting decade so far. Two wars, the first black president, a horrible recession. What's truly amazing is that the community survives. It endures.

The alternative modeling and art community has never been predicated on profit. It's core values are orginality and art. If some of us happen to make a profit in the process, then great, but as a general rule, none of us are getting rich.

RetroKitten has been reduced to a skeleton crew, but we still see around 6,000 unique visitors a day. The staff met and talked about what directions the site should take. Unanimously, we all thought that focussing on members and member activity would be what makes or breaks us.

Towards those ends, you will notice minor changes in the site of the next few months as we try to make it more useful to our members.

Remember, we don't advertise. We don't want traffic. We value word of mouth quality members. Quality over quantity. We have some great new members, so be sure to check back occasionally so see what's going on!
